Translate

Hurghada International Airport recorded Saturday, October 31, 2026, the highest daily operating rate in its history with 389 takeoff and landing operations, achieving a 31-movement increase compared to its November 2025 record reflecting increasing demand for Egyptian tourist destinations.

Total passengers reached about 67,000 compared to 56,641 on the previous record day. Arrivals rose by 24.1 percent to 33,500 while departures increased by 13 percent to 33,500.

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh al-Hefny affirmed the record rates reflect growing international demand for Egyptian tourist cities with the winter season’s onset confirming the aviation sector’s vital role in supporting inbound tourism.

Al-Hefny explained the ministry prioritizes developing airport infrastructure to accommodate growing air traffic and provide efficient services while adhering to safety standards.

Egyptian Airports Company Chairman Wael al-Nashar stressed this record reflects the airport’s operational efficiency and readiness to handle high densities, ensuring flight regularity and swift travel procedures.

Al-Nashar added the company enhances technical and human preparations at tourist airports to efficiently handle expected passenger increases.

This record coincides with the winter tourist season witnessing rising international flights to Red Sea destinations, supporting state efforts to develop tourism.
