Police officer reportedly stabbed in neck east of Brisbane
A Queensland police officer is recovering in hospital after reportedly being stabbed in the neck and torso during a callout at a home east of Brisbane on Sunday morning.
Officers were called to an address on Bogong Street in Hemmant about 5.15am following reports of a disturbance.
Police engaged with two men at the house before one allegedly attacked an officer, reportedly stabbing him in the neck and torso.
One of the men then fled the scene on a bike, before dumping it and continuing on foot. He was eventually found and taken into custody about 7am.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson would not confirm the officer had been stabbed in the neck, only that a male constable “sustained an injury”.
The officer was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Police said investigations are continuing.
