Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi insists Nico Paz is “100% a Como player”, but admits Real Madrid still have the right to take him back.

With quotes via TuttoMercatoWeb, Ludi was speaking to Radio Radio and addressed speculation over the Argentine’s future. Paz has been one of the stars of the Champions League this season, with three goals and five assists in four games. Those include two goals and an assist in Como’s 4-1 win over Manchester United.

His form has attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. Real Madrid could bring him back in 2027.

“I put myself in the shoes of Como fans, because every November and every March, I don’t know whether it’s media speculation or for other reasons, it always comes out that Real Madrid are taking all the players back home,” Ludi said. “This year they’re talking about Jacobo Ramón, and over the next two seasons about Nico Paz.”

Como’s Nico Paz deal explained

Real activated a buy-back clause on Paz in the summer, but Como then re-signed him permanently for a reported €60m. As part of that deal, Real kept another buy-back option, reportedly worth €80m and valid only in summer 2027.

“The truth is that we did a good deal last summer. Nico Paz is 100% a Como player,” Ludi explained. “Real Madrid kept a right to buy him back by a certain date, within the transfer window, as is normal.

“It would still be a sale that would reward our work and would also be important for the club. We’ll work out how to manage the situation during the season, as we’ve always done in recent years, thanks in part to the fantastic relationship we have with Madrid. For now, we have to enjoy the player, because he really is an incredible talent.”
