2 of Oriental Mindoro’s most wanted, another suspect arrested

CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — Two provincial most wanted persons and another wanted individual were arrested in separate police operations in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Police identified the suspects as the provincial top 4 and top 5 most wanted persons, both arrested in Barangay San Jose, and another wanted person apprehended earlier in Barangay Aplaya.

The operations were conducted by personnel from the Bongabong Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the Provincial Intelligence and Targeting Office of the Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office.

The provincial top 5 most wanted person was arrested in Barangay San Jose by Bongabong MPS personnel led by police chief Maj. Aldrian James F. Garcia, with assistance from the 2nd PMFC.

Police said the suspect was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 41 in Pinamalayan for violating Presidential Decree No. 1613, or the Anti-Arson Law. The court did not recommend bail.

In a separate operation, the provincial top 4 most wanted person was arrested at Sitio Bintalan II, also in Barangay San Jose.

The arrest was carried out by the Bongabong MPS, 2nd PMFC and Provincial Intelligence Team – Regional Intelligence Unit 4B based on a target intelligence packet and a warrant issued by the same RTC Branch 41 for violating PD 1613. No bail was recommended.

Earlier on Wednesday, police also arrested another wanted person in Barangay Aplaya.

The suspect was apprehended by the Bongabong MPS and 2nd PMFC on the strength of a warrant issued by RTC Branch 66 in Tanauan, Batangas, for violating Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. The court set bail at P36,000.

Police said all three suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and remained under the custody of the Bongabong MPS for documentation and eventual turnover to the courts that issued the warrants.

Oriental Mindoro police provincial director Col. Edison V. Revita commended the police personnel involved, citing sustained intelligence work, coordination and teamwork in locating and apprehending wanted persons. /cb
