Protesters gathered outside Club Filipino in San Juan City on Friday calling to convict Vice President Sara Duterte in her impeachment trial.

According to Super Radyo dzBB’s Mark Makalalad, the protesters, mostly wearing white, carried banners and placards with the words “Convict Sara.” They also brought drums and held a noise barrage.

The protest coincided with former Senator Antonio Trillanes' press conference at the same venue.

Trillanes is expected to present what would have been his testimony in the impeachment proceedings against Duterte.

San Juan City Police initially estimated that more than 50 people joined the protest.

The gathering caused some traffic slowdown in the area as protesters occupied part of the road in front of Club Filipino. Police personnel were deployed to manage the crowd and help ease traffic. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA News
