Ole Miss All-America running back Kewan Lacy won't be available to play Saturday vs. Auburn after dislocating his shoulder during a loss to Texas over the weekend.
Lacy had a different shoulder injury that caused him to miss time earlier in the season.
"Obviously he's not going to play this week and then we're going to evaluate that moving forward what that looks like," coach Pete Golding said Monday. "So, I know normally wouldn't tell you that, but there's no chance that we're going to try that at all this week.
"He's still through the rehab process. We're still getting some MRIs and all that stuff, but it was definitely a different injury than what it was."
Lacy, a junior from Dallas, has rushed for 388 yards and five touchdowns this season.
Last season, he earned All-America honors after rushing for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns.
With Lacy sidelined, Makhi Frazier likely elevates to the top of the depth chart. He has 301 rushing yards this season.
Golding said that Shekai Mills-Knight, who has 42 rushing yards this season, will "have a real opportunity this week as well."
Ole Miss' loss to Texas dropped the team's record to 5-2. In the Associated Press poll, the Rebs fell five spots to No. 12.
After hosting Auburn on Saturday, Ole Miss will welcome No. 3 Georgia to Oxford on Nov. 7.
