Exclusive: Britain's Got Talent is doing "exciting" new TWISTS for its 20th series

It's given us some of the most iconic and viral moments in television history. Who could forget Susan Boyle's rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream' or Diversity putting street dance on the map?

Next year sees Britain's Got Talent celebrate its 20th anniversary.

As well as the memorable acts and auditions since its launch on ITV in 2007, we've seen many judges come and go, from Piers Morgan and Bradley Walsh to Stacey Solomon and the unforgettable David Hasselhoff.

But one who has remained consistent since the show's inception is Amanda Holden.

Amanda, with her glamour and warm, sunny personality, is as much a part of the programme's furniture as her fellow judge Simon Cowell's bleached veneers and high-waisted trousers.

In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, the Heart Radio presenter revealed how TV bosses are planning to mark Britain's Got Talent's birthday.

"Oh my God, it's going to be a knockout show. We've got lots of exciting things planned to celebrate 20 years. There are going to be some twists to the show. There will be some different aspects to it."

Amanda has witnessed multiple changes to BGT over the years. However, she doesn't take her longevity for granted and reveals the real reason she still loves working on the competition show.

"I can't believe I'm still there. My daughter is 20 and I look at her and just go, 'That is what 20 looks like.' It is amazing. To get to do 20 years on the show has been brilliant.

"Britain's Got Talent has really changed over 20 years. We have had lots of bedroom auditions. Now you find more people through social media. But even with all the things that have changed, it's still a show you sit down and watch with your family.

"We have changed people's lives, genuinely. You don't have to win it for it to change your life. I have kept in touch with so many of the contestants who didn't win and they are smashing it. They never went back to their normal jobs and they're doing what they love and getting paid to do it. That's incredible."

What is Amanda's secret to keeping her judging job on the same show when so many have come and gone over the years?

"Simon Cowell has just been bloody brilliant to have kept me there. I also have to keep myself relevant.

"I've always been very truthful. I've been part of all aspects of the industry. I've done stage, I've done film, I've done TV, I've done radio. The only thing I haven't done is a Bollywood movie. I need to check that off my list."

Given her incredible success on TV and radio, will she ever retire and enjoy her success?

"I take the summer off. But I'm not very good at resting. I clear people's plates before they finish their dinner. I tidy up. I am not good at sitting down. I get bollocked by my whole family for it all the time."

And that's why she's the best.

Britain's Got Talent will return to ITV next year.
