Injured Martin withdraws from Malaysian Grand Prix

SEPANG: Aprilia Racing has confirmed that injured Jorge Martin has been withdrawn from the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia.
Martin, riding with a fractured wrist, took part in free practice two (FP2) this morning but appeared to struggle with pain.
He was 21st in the session, almost two seconds off the pace set by Enea Bastianini (1:58.516s).
The 2024 world champion only participated briefly in yesterday's afternoon practice.
Aprilia, in a brief statement shown by MotoGP, said: "Jorge Martin will withdraw from the remainder of the Malaysian GP to continue his recovery from injury."
Martin had picked up the injury when he crashed during the sprint race at Phillip Island last week.
The Spaniard is second overall in the premier class standings behind championship leader Marc Marquez.
