Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2027 school session for national and government-aided schools will begin on Jan 4 and end on Dec 2 for Group A states and Dec 3 for Group B states.

The Education Ministry (MoE) said Group A comprises Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, while Group B covers Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

MoE has also coordinated the festive holidays for the 2027 school session, covering Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan, Gawai Dayak, Wesak Day, Deepavali and Christmas.

"All schools must comply with the additional holiday provisions set by MoE in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidiladha, Wesak Day and Deepavali, with the additional holidays not required to be replaced.

"The ministry has also set Jan 3, 2028 as the start of the 2028 school session for both Group A and Group B states," it said in a statement.

MoE said the standardisation was aimed at ensuring a coordinated opening of the 2028 school session nationwide, while facilitating school administration planning and a more orderly and effective implementation of teaching and learning activities.
