‘Every venue will sell out’ — I will demand $500,000 if I tour with Wizkid – Davido

Afrobeats singer Davido said a joint tour with Wizkid would sell out venues worldwide, adding that he would demand $500,000 per show.

Davido made the statement during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and touring with his colleague.

However, he expressed uncertainty about whether a joint song with Wizkid would become a hit, citing the D’banj and 2Baba collaboration as an example.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” Davido said.

But he was more confident about touring together, saying, “If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out.”

The singer also said he and Wizkid hadn't recorded a song together in about 10 years, explaining that they hadn't collaborated because they couldn't work together.

Davido said he hadn't been in the same mental space with Wizkid, adding that people had different opinions on whether their rivalry had made them bigger or whether working together would boost their careers.

He also spoke about moving past disagreements, saying it takes maturity to admit when your feelings have changed.

“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
