Mikel Arteta reveals 'massive library' as Arsenal boss hits back after Liverpool controversy

Mikel Arteta dismissed talk of Arsenal being fortunate to not concede a penalty against Liverpool, insisting he has a "massive library" of similar incidents that went unpunished.

The Gunners beat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday to earn their first win at Anfield since 2012.

It moved the champions three points clear at the top of the Premier League but there were some controversial moments in the game.

Jurrien Timber was extremely lucky to not be penalised for pulling Alexander Isak's shirt in the box as the striker tried to get on the end of a cross.

Liverpool were furious at that decision and Andoni Iraola said after the game that he would demand his players dive to the ground in future after Isak stayed on his feet.

However, Arteta suggested straight after the match that he had not seen any replays. Ahead of Arsenal's clash with Slavia Prague, he indicated it was not an incident that merited so much discussion.

"I have a lot of clips about shirts, pulls, grabs," the Spaniard said.

"I have a massive library that we can talk about. We're talking about one in particular, I have a massive library that we can throw there to remind everybody what every team is going through."

Those were similar comments to the ones Arteta made last month in response to his second booking of the season for leaving his technical area on the touchline.

Arteta has been shown a yellow card against Sunderland and Leeds this season. Another would result in a touchline ban.

"There are managers who have the record in the league, 36 times in 10 minutes [they] leave the touchline - no yellows," Arteta said.

"I am clipping all of that so I have now a massive storage of images, so if somebody comes to me I can say, 'I am not in the record yet'. Somebody else has the record so let's see.

"Then it's 36 yellow cards in 10 minutes for the managers. I don't know what we are going to do - let's see."
