InJourney confirms Jakarta flights to Jeddah, Medina operate normally

Translate

Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's branch office under state-owned airport operator InJourney confirmed that flights to Jeddah and Medina operate without disruption despite regional security developments in Riyadh.

"Direct flights to Jeddah and Medina remain operating normally," Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal Affairs Yudistiawan stated on Monday.

While Soekarno-Hatta does not operate direct flights to Riyadh, some passengers traveling from Jakarta connect through Dubai.

"Amid the evolving situation, flights from Dubai to Riyadh and Jeddah have been canceled, affecting passengers traveling via these connecting routes," Yudistiawan continued.

Airport management activated Service Recovery Activation (SRA) protocols to assist affected travelers.

Provisions include snacks, beverages, and temporary resting facilities in the Terminal 3 employee lounge at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Yudistiawan noted that management continues monitoring global developments while coordinating with relevant stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.

"Flight safety and security, as well as the comfort of our passengers, are always our top priority in every operation," he pointed out.

He advised international travelers to verify flight schedules through official airline channels prior to departure.

"Passengers can also access the latest information on Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s operations by contacting the InJourney Airports Contact Center at 172," he conveyed.

Earlier on Monday morning, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) reported that an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh killed one Pakistani citizen and injured 11 others, with victims transferred to hospitals for treatment.

The incident followed a prior strike on the airport that killed 12 people and injured more than 300 others.

The Saudi-led coalition attributed the attack to Yemen's Houthi group, condemning it as a violation of international humanitarian law and vowing a firm response.
