Nigerian rapper, Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has said any man who claims he would not die for his woman is a “fool,” arguing that men are expected to love their wives sacrificially.

Odumodublvck made the remark during an episode of the In Motion Podcast on YouTube, shared on Friday, while also speaking about his controversial feud with fellow rapper Blaqbonez.

Speaking about his views on relationships, Odumodublvck said, “Any man wey talk say he no fit die for him woman na fool!”

Explaining his position from a Christian perspective, the rapper said, “Because me now, I’m a Christian. See, this is my power. And Jesus said, Christ said we should love our wife like Christ loved the church. And what did Christ do for the church? He died for the church.”

He added that he expected to die before his wife because she is younger than him.

“I’m probably going to die before my wife, in Jesus’ name. Amen… Why should my wife die before me? When she’s younger than me? Doesn’t make any sense. I should die before my wife,” he said.

Odumodublvck said he believed his wife would then take care of their children and continue what he had started.

“And when I die, it’s my wife that will now take everything and distribute to my children so there will not be wahala. So it’s my wife that will continue whatever it is that I started,” he said.

The rapper also linked his attitude towards women to his upbringing, saying his mother’s generosity influenced his own approach to money.

“Like me now, my mom is a cheerful giver. If you give me one million Naira now, before you know it, I’ve sent it to ten people. I don’t know how to hold money. So my girlfriend will be holding my money for me,” he said.

He further compared the importance of women to the queen in chess.

“So if you don’t understand the concept of loving a woman and putting a woman where a woman is meant to be. Like if you look at chess, the strongest piece on the board is the queen,” he said.

“If the queen goes, just forget that game. Forget the game. The king is exposed,” he added.

Odumodublvck also addressed the perception that he is a misogynist, describing the label as an unfair misconception.

“They think I’m a misogynist,” he said.

Asked if the perception bothered him, he replied, “It bothers me a lot. A whole lot. Because it’s such an unfair thing to say.”

The rapper then questioned whether someone willing to die for his partner could be described as a misogynist.

“Okay, now I want to die for my girlfriend. Will a misogynist die for his woman?” he asked.
