MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan Third Division has allowed former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to sign the court’s pre-trial order while at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas, Quezon City.

“The Sandiganbayan Third Division has GRANTED accused Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez’s motion to sign the Pre-trial Order at BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and Penology) Payatas, Q.C. on October 12, 2026,” said the Third Division’s clerk of court Dennis Pulma in a message to reporters.

Romualdez, alongside former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co and two other individuals, were accused of plunder for allegedly receiving more than P7 billion in kickbacks from government projects from 2022 to 2025.
