The opposition’s search for a common presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election took a new turn on Thursday as Linda Mwananchi leader Edwin Sifuna held a series of meetings with key players to prevent disagreements over the ticket from spilling into a wider fallout.

Mr Sifuna held separate talks with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka before meeting Jubilee presidential candidate Dr Fred Matiang’i and other opposition leaders, exposing the intensity of behind-the-scenes efforts to keep the various camps together ahead of the crucial nominations.
