Fire hits bus at terminal in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A passenger bus caught fire at the Roxas Grand Terminal in Barangay Bagumbayan, Roxas town, on Sunday morning.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze before it could spread to other vehicles and structures.
The incident occurred at 8:14 a.m., according to SFO3 Querube Peradilla, officer-in-charge of the Roxas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The Gold Star Bus unit operated by Ceres Transport, had just completed a trip from Manila when the fire broke out, Peradilla said.

According to BFP, it immediately dispatched fire trucks and personnel to the terminal and declared the fire out at around 8:30 a.m., according to the PIA report.
No one was injured or killed in the incident as all passengers had already disembarked from the bus before the fire broke out.
The BFP’s initial investigation indicated that the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault in the bus’s air-conditioning system wiring.
