2026 U-17 WWC: Brazil Coach Rilany Warns Flamingos Will Be Tough To Beat

Translate

Brazil U-17 women’s head coach, Rilany Silva, has admitted that her side faces a difficult challenge against Nigeria’s Flamingos in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The South Americans are scheduled to face Nigeria on Wednesday night as both teams battle for a place in the final.

The Flamingos began their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Poland but have bounced back impressively, recording victories over Puerto Rico, DPR Korea, Mexico and Venezuela to book their place in the last four.

Brazil, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in the competition, having demonstrated their attacking quality throughout the tournament.

Silva Expects Tough Flamingos Test

However, despite her team’s impressive run, Silva believes Nigeria will pose a serious threat, particularly because of their physical strength and stamina.

“I’m expecting an extremely difficult match. Nigeria are a very physical team. By the 90th minute, they’ll probably still be running as if it were the fifth. We’ll need to be very strategic with our game plan to find ways to hurt Nigeria,” Silva told FIFA.

The semi-final encounter will take place at Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 3, in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 pm Nigerian time.
