EastEnders reveals two new threats to Max Branning in wedding fallout

Translate

EastEnders has aired some worrying scenes for Max Branning as he grapples with the consequences of his short-lived marriage to Cindy Beale and his role in Zoe Slater's tragic death.

In tonight's episode, Oscar visited his dad as he was struggling over his actions on the night Zoe died. Zoe caught Max and Linda Carter kissing mere hours after he'd said "I do" to Cindy and he pleaded with her to keep quiet, but ignored her calls for help after she fell and hit her head earlier on.

Hours later, Zoe died of a head injury, leaving Kat devastated.

In new scenes, a guilt-ridden Max insisted he should've done something to help Zoe, as he reflected on having played a part in Steven Beale's death years ago.

Oscar told his dad he'd make "everything worse" if he told the truth and promised to stay away from Zoe's kids, Jasmine and Josh, following his love affairs with both. Max made his son swear he wouldn't get involved with the twins, but Oscar's blank stare told a different story.

At the market, Oscar walked up to Jasmine to offer his condolences, though his ex hurried back to the pub to comfort Kat. Then, Patrick Trueman asked Oscar to check in on Josh, who had been bottling his feeling about his mum's death.

Reluctantly, Oscar went to see him. Josh appeared to be coping well as he reminded him that Zoe had abandoned he and Jasmine as kids.

Meanwhile, Cindy sought legal advice from Johnny Carter about what to do after her wedding collapse. Johnny refused to help her though given his conflict of interest with Max, who's his sister Annie's dad.

An embittered Cindy spotted Max in the street and went after him, vowing she'd made him pay for having humiliated her.

At Patrick's, Josh opened up to Oscar about his complicated feelings for Zoe. The two had a heart to heart, with Josh pulling Oscar in for a kiss.

Oscar resisted at first, but the tension between them was palpable and soon led them to the bedroom.

With Cindy hellbent on revenge and Oscar getting cosy with Zoe's son, is Max in serious trouble?
