#SHOWBIZ: Zizie Izette slams 'wild slander' over late husband Bung Moktar's alleged RM1.17bil fortune

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad has dismissed claims alleging that her late husband, former Kinabatangan Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, left behind an estate valued at RM1.17 billion in a bank account.

The 48-year-old personality threw down the gauntlet to those spreading the false rumours, challenging them to produce official documentary proof, such as bank account details and statements.

"If it is true that my late husband left RM1.17 billion in an account, please come forward with evidence like bank statements and account details — I challenge you to show it," she said in a recent social media post.

"Believe me, nobody would be happier than my five children and I if such a fortune genuinely existed," she added, highlighting the sheer absurdity of the claims given that she was entirely unaware of any such sum.

Expressing her dismay, the sister of popular actor Shaheizy Sam said outsiders claimed to know more than the immediate family, adding that she and her children would hardly need to search for funds if the rumours held any truth.

"Do not simply use the deceased's name in vain for gossip, as he is no longer here in this world to defend himself," she cautioned.

Zizie also urged the public to exercise restraint and mindfulness before spreading wild speculation and slander concerning those who have passed on.

She reminded followers to seek forgiveness and avoid destructive gossip, noting that everyone would ultimately account for their words in the afterlife.

In a separate post, Zizie shared a screenshot of a message alerting her to persistent rumours about Bung Moktar's alleged massive savings.

Though caught off guard, she quipped that if the claims were true, her life would be far easier and she would not need to run a business for a living.

"Honestly, for once, I wish the rumours were true. Just imagine if that kind of money actually existed," she joked.

Zizie married Bung Moktar as his second wife in 2009.

The couple shared three biological children and raised two adopted children together.

Bung Moktar passed away on Dec 5, 2025, at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, due to kidney failure and a severe lung infection.
