Rebels gets revenge on Lane Kiffin: Best moments from LSU-Ole Miss

It was one of the most hyped games of the season. After a dramatic departure from Oxford, Lane Kiffin's return to Ole Miss with LSU lived up to the billing on the field.

While Kiffin facing former teams has not always been pleasant, this one did not feature any mustard being thrown.

It did have Heisman candidate Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss building a big lead then watching LSU erase a 17-point deficit to tie the game at 24 in the fourth quarter. Following a Chambliss touchdown run to give the Rebels the lead, the game was sealed when Jaylon Braxton picked off LSU QB Sam Leavitt in the end zone.

Here's a look at a wild day in Oxford:

Movie royalty on "College GameDay"

Guest pickers for "College GameDay" have come from sports, music, movies -- pretty much everything. The show has even had previous pickers who were Academy Award nominees. On Saturday, actor Morgan Freeman joined Matthew McConaughey as the only Oscar winners to do the prognosticating.

Freeman was raised in Mississippi.

Fans take shots

They never lose the tailgate at Ole Miss and with the charged atmosphere on both sides of the rivalry the fans came ready.

Security presence

Earlier in the week it was reported that Mississippi was dispatching more than 60 highway patrolmen for added security in Oxford. Louisiana governor Jeff Landry joked that he would send fighter jets and military transports for the Tigers.

No major instances were reported by local law enforcement.

We meet again

Pete Golding was on Kiffin's staff as defensive coordinator for the final three seasons of Kiffin's tenure in Oxford. Upon Kiffin's exit, Golding was very quickly elevated to head coach and led the Rebels to the semifinals in the College Football Playoff.

The two coaches were all smiles when they met during pregame.

Boos for Kiffin

After Kiffin left Ole Miss before the Rebels' CFP run, there were going to be some fans ready to exact some revenge when he returned. Kiffin was booed heartily when the team arrived at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Then, after the Rebels built a big first-half lead, the fans gave some more to their former coach as he exited the field at halftime.

Trolling Baton Rouge

After Ole Miss' 32-24 win, the stadium operations staff played two cherished LSU songs -- "Callin' Baton Rouge" by Garth Brooks and "Neck" by Jay Da Wizard.
