India beat Malaysia 4-2 in its final pool stage game of the Asian Champions Trophy in Jalandhar on Sunday and booked its semifinal berth.

Skipper Harmanpreet Singh struck twice from penalty corners at the start of each half, before converting a penalty stroke late in the game to complete his hat-trick. Sukhjeet Singh continued his good form by adding India’s third in the 43rd minute.

For Malaysia, Anuar Akhimullah scored to equalise in the 25th minute and Silverius pulled one back in the dying seconds of the contest.

India now sits on top of the standings with 12 points after four matches. It will finish its round robin engagement with a match against South Korea on Monday.
