The Ondo State Government plans to establish a youth call centre, to be known as the Ondo State Youth Call Centre, as a channel of communication between the government and young people.

The initiative is designed to provide a direct and accessible communication channel between the government and youths across the state’s 18 Local Government Areas.

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Youth and Social Inclusion, Comrade Henry Okunomo.

According to the statement, the centre will serve as a central platform where young people can “make enquiries, seek information about employment and empowerment opportunities, report challenges, submit complaints, access relevant government interventions and communicate their concerns directly to the appropriate authorities.”

The statement read, “The initiative will also promote youth participation in governance, strengthen social inclusion, facilitate access to educational and entrepreneurial opportunities and ensure that the voices of young people, particularly those in underserved and riverine communities, are heard and appropriately addressed.

“Through this platform, the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Social Inclusion seeks to bridge the communication gap between government and young people while establishing a more structured mechanism for identifying, documenting and responding to youth-related concerns.

“The centre will also facilitate referrals to relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, ensuring that enquiries and complaints receive appropriate attention.”

The statement added that the initiative reflected an approach to youth engagement that recognised young people not merely as beneficiaries of government policies but as important stakeholders in governance, development and social transformation.

“The youth call centre meets the 21st century rapid response and synergy required for youth and social inclusion. The official launch, operational arrangements and communication channels will be made public in due course,” the statement concluded.
