Jack Black Plays Jack Sabbath Set with Geezer Buttler at Power to the People Fest

Translate

At Tom Morello’s Power to the People Fest, Jack Black led a group of teenagers, including Morello’s son Roman, Scott Ian’s son Revel, Yokoya Soma, and Hugo Weiss, through a special Black Sabbath tribute set under the fitting name Jack Sabbath. Together, they tackled songs including “Mr. Crowley,” “The Wizard,” and “War Pigs,” with the latter featuring a surprise appearance by none other than Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler.

“It’s been a long time since I rock ‘n’ rolled,” Black said between breaths following a spirited performance of “Mr. Crowley,” which saw the Tenacious D frontman show off both his vocal prowess and signature dance moves. He was nonetheless up to the task, even going so far as to play harmonica during “The Wizard,” which he said he learned specifically for the gig. His young band turned in an equally impressive performance, especially Roman Morello, who went tow to tow with Butler during “War Pigs.”
