MANILA, Philippines – On Day 36 of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, a Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) executive is set to testify before the Senate impeachment court on Duterte and her husband Manases Carpio’s tax records, income declarations and tax compliance.

BIR chief of staff Anne Loraine Garcia-Marquez will be the House prosecution panel’s 26th witness in its presentation of Article II, which covers the vice president’s alleged unexplained wealth. Her testimony will follow that of remaining insurance company representatives expected to discuss insurance policies and investments held by the couple. /dp
