KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences over the deaths of three siblings killed in a road crash in Pontian, Johor, today.

In a Facebook post, Anwar also expressed his deepest sympathies to the victims' family and prayed that they would be given strength and resilience in facing the tragedy.

"May the souls of the deceased be showered with blessings and be placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah," he said.

The three siblings, aged between eight and 18, were killed around 7.20am after they collided with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction while they were heading from Jalan Parit Haji Omar towards Kayu Ara Pasong on a motorcycle.

Pontian police chief Superintendent Hadzrat Hussein Mion Hussain said the pillion riders, aged eight and 11, died at the scene, while the 18-year-old motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries at Pontian Hospital.

The 69-year-old lorry driver sustained injuries to his hands and both knees.
