The Jonas Brothers fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to their feet, dancing and singing along to their hits on Friday, as they headlined the halftime show during the NFL’s first-ever game in Australia.Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas took the stage in matching jackets as they headlined the special entertainment segment as the San Francisco 49ers took on the Los Angeles Rams in front of 100,000 fans gathered to watch the match.The American trio had been announced as the halftime performers last month, following speculation that Miley Cyrus could take the stage.“We couldn’t be more excited to perform at halftime during the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Australia,” the Jonas Brothers said ahead of the performance.

“Playing at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in front of such passionate Australian fans is an incredible honour.”

While the set featured the group's own music, it was their rendition of Australian music legend John Farnham’s iconic anthem You’re The Voice that appeared to had the audience singing along.

The brothers delivered a short four-song set, which included tracks like Sucker, You’re The Voice, Year 3000.

The choice also earned praise from some viewers on social media. “Great choice in ‘You’re the Voice’; another big tick for the @NFL showing respect to the locals. Technically tough song to sing with that massive range. I know zero about the Jonas Brothers, but they nailed that for another positive for the Melbourne experience imho,” one viewer wrote on X.

Another fan posted, “Not the Jonas Brothers singing my fave’s song at the NFL halftime show?? THANK YOU @jonasbrothers for acknowledging John Farnham for the legend he is.”

Jonas Brothers face mixed reaction

However, the halftime show also drew criticism from some viewers, with several questioning the choice of performers and their set.“Can someone please explain to me how @nfl came up with the Jonas Brothers to play halftime in Australia?” one person posted.Some also criticised the group's rendition of You’re The Voice, while another questioned whether the short performance reflected the Jonas Brothers' usual live show.
