LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — The delegates of this year’s Miss Asia Pacific International pageant visited so many towns and cities in the country, but they spent more time basking under the Cebu sun, hopping on and off buses and taking boat rides to get to their destinations across the province.

For Cebu’s second consecutive year of hosting the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant, the ladies arrived in Mactan on the first official day of the 2026 edition on Sept. 21. They stayed in Lapu-Lapu City and visited Cordova, both on the island of Mactan. They also visited the capital city of Cebu and Mandaue City.

Down south, the ladies got really busy and visited the city of Naga and the towns of Alegria, Argao, Sibonga, and Moalboal, and went to Badian Island where they enjoyed pristine beaches, and hiked to see the Kawasan Falls.

This may be the second straight year that the pageant is being hosted in Cebu, but this is the first time that all the events and activities are held in the province. Last year, the first leg of the competition was conducted in Manila.

Reigning queen Isabela Fernandes of Brazil flew earlier to Cebu, and welcomed the 2026 delegates when they arrived. She was later followed by 2024 second runner-up Selena Ali from Belgium.

Fernandes’ second runner-up Bowonrat Maneerart from Thailand and fourth runner-up Elmira Wildboer from the Netherlands have also arrived in Cebu, while first runner-up Anita Rose Gomez of the Philippines is expected to join them for the coronation night.

The 2026 Miss Asia Pacific International Grand Coronation Night will be held at Mactan Expo in Lapu-Lapu City on Saturday evening, Oct. 10. The Philippines is represented by Miss World Philippines Second Princess Gabrielle Galapia. /edv
