MANILA, Philippines — Some communities in Negros Island Region reported a sulfuric odor and ashfall following the moderately explosive eruption of Kanlaon Volcano on Saturday, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) earlier said the volcano erupted at around 12:30 p.m., with the event ending at 12:48 p.m.
