Shuvee Etrata, Anthony Constantino take year-long courtship to new digital series

Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino are bringing their real-life courtship to the screen as they headline GMA Network’s newest digital series, “From Vlog to Love.”

Constantino courted Etrata for about a year starting even before the latter joined “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.” The pair said their relationship has allowed them to understand each other’s priorities.

“With our courtship, the industry that we’re in, and the point where we’re at in our lives right now, I think we both have a mutual understanding that no matter what it is, we want to just push each other within our career, with our families,” Constantino said during the press conference on Thursday, Sept. 10.

“We want to make sure that we create the foundations for a strong relationship with each other,” he added.

Etrata, meanwhile, said her family remains her priority, noting that she still has eight siblings whom she wants to help before putting herself first.

“Ang priority ko talaga ay ang family ko. Walo pa ’yung kapatid ko na tulungan muna bago ko piliin ang sarili ko,” she said.

“Of course, I’m going to choose myself in the near future. But right now my priority is really my family, and we are on the same page about that. Kaya niya naman sigurong maghintay,” she added.

In “From Vlog to Love,” Etrata plays Angge, a feisty college intern from the province who is determined to build a better life for herself and her grandmother without relying on anyone.

Constantino plays Bullet, a charming but directionless Fil-Am heir who is sent to the Philippines to manage his family’s resort after his wealthy father cuts him off following a viral scandal involving a spliced racist remark.

Bullet eventually crosses paths with Angge, leading to a romance that mirrors the “AFAM meets Bisdak” dynamic that has also become part of Etrata and Constantino’s real-life appeal as a pair.

Etrata said the project fulfills her longtime desire to star in a romantic comedy.

“I’m really grateful. As I’ve always said, I’ve always wanted to do a romcom show or series,” she said. “This is my dream project. To do a romcom with somebody that I’m comfortable with.”

The series tackles the role of social media and online content in modern relationships, prompting the pair to share their views on responsible vlogging.

Constantino said vloggers and content creators should remember that their platforms can influence their viewers.

“When to vlog and when not to vlog? Honestly, my take on vlogging is no matter what, you need to realize that there’s going to be a lot of people watching, a lot of kids watching,” he said.

The actor added that creators should avoid posting content that could serve as a bad influence or misrepresent who they are.

Etrata, meanwhile, emphasized that responsible content creation also means considering the people who watch and support creators.

“Parang very minimum naman na magiging responsable, to show respect to everyone. That’s like very minimum,” she said.

“I know your goal is to earn money but you also need to consider the people who are watching you,” she added.

Joining Etrata and Constantino in the digital series are fellow Sparkle artists Caitlyn Stave and Kiel Gueco, along with Christian Antolin, Marnie Lapus, Che Ramos-Cosio and Ruby Ruiz.

“From Vlog to Love” premieres Sept. 18 and will air every Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. on the GMA Network YouTube channel. /ra
