Kenny Chesney’s first album for Hey Now Records, Silver Sands Marina, breezes onto multiple Billboard charts dated Oct. 10.
The set debuts at No. 3 on Top Country Albums and No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 35,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in its first week (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), according to Luminate.
Of that sum, album sales comprise nearly 30,000, sparking the set’s No. 1 entrance on Top Album Sales, where Chesney reigns for a 13th time. In the list’s history, which dates to 1991, only Taylor Swift (16) and Jay-Z (14) have more leaders.
The LP also opens at No. 2 on Vinyl Albums (12,000 on vinyl).
The Tennessee-born hitmaker has placed 25 projects on Top Country Albums, with Silver Sands Marina marking his 23rd top 10 and his highest charted set since 2020’s Here and Now, which opened as his 17th No. 1. He likewise adds his 17th Billboard 200 top 10.
The 11-song set is Chesney’s 21st studio album and was produced by Chesney and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon. Roughly three years in the making, Chesney continued reshaping the project late in the process, including re-recording “Carry On” and adding the title track and “Remember Me That Way.” He celebrated the Sept. 25 release with a 22-song pop-up show at Nashville’s 4,500-capacity Pinnacle.
“Carry On,” the album’s lead single, concurrently rises to No. 1 on Country Airplay, extending Chesney’s record to 34 leaders. Written by Zach Abend, HARDY and Shane McAnally, “Remember Me That Way” went to country radio Sept. 24.
Silver Sands Marina features Colbie Caillat, Lily Meola and Megan Moroney, while its writing credits include Jessi Alexander, Matraca Berg, Jessie Jo Dillon, Tony Lane, Shane McAnally, Tia Sillers, Tenille Townes and the late Brett James. Chesney has said that he approached the set as a complete album, pushing back against a streaming-era focus on individual tracks and playlists.
Hey Now Records, cofounded by veteran Nashville executives John Esposito, Clint Higham and Kris Lamb, launched with Chesney as its flagship artist in March. The label takes its name from the boat in Chesney’s “Happy on the Hey Now” from his 2014 album Life on a Rock.
Chesney returns to the road in April 2027 with his Original Vibe Room Tour, featuring Eric Church, Sheryl Crow and Greylan James.
Corey Kent Rock n’ Rolls Onto Albums Chart
Plus, Corey Kent’s Heartland Rock and Roll debuts on Top Country Albums at No. 37 (9,000 units). The set includes “Rocky Mountain Low,” featuring Koe Wetzel, a former Country Airplay top 10 and Hot Country Songs top 20 hit, while “Empty Words” rises to a new No. 20 high on Hot Country Songs.
Written in part around campfires with songwriter friends at Kent’s Texas ranch, the album leans into the country-rock sound that Kent has noted he has been trying to define throughout his career.
