EastEnders appears to solve another flashforward question in huge new trailer

When it comes to this time of year, you can surely expect a host of twists and turns in our beloved soaps in the lead up to Christmas. And EastEnders has not failed to disappoint with its upcoming scenes.
In the New Year's Day episode back in January, Nicola was seen hobbling along with crutches and now we know why. In a trailer released earlier this week, it seems Nicola falls down a set of stairs following an argument with her sister Gemma, which appears to take place during Christmas. So is this why Nicola is laden with a broken leg injury?

Twenty seconds into the trailer of the upcoming scenes, Nicola is seen being punched in the face by her sister, leaving her with cuts and bruises on the base of the steps to her house.
It then follows on to show Max being berated by Cindy, who shouts out that she cannot wait for Linda to know who the 'real' Max Branning is, closely followed by Mo leading in a donkey into The Queen Vic pub, much to Alfie's shock.
Viewers will also see that the relationship between Max and his brother Jack has hit another low after it was revealed that Max stole £50,000 from Amy's trust fund.
However, it doesn't end there. Kat tells Alfie that she wants the person responsible for abandoning Zoe when she died.
This comes after it was reported that Linda, played by Kellie Bright, announced her departure from the BBC soap.
Speaking about the end of her time on the iconic BBC show, she told the BBC website: "EastEnders has been my home for thirteen years and I have absolutely loved being part of the show, but I have decided that it is now the right time for me to say goodbye.

"I made the tough decision over a year ago, and after discussing this with Kate Oates and Ben Wadey, they asked me to stay on to be part of an exciting storyline they had planned, and I happily agreed to extend my stay. I will miss my friends and colleagues hugely, but I am looking forward to my next chapter and spending more time with my wonderful boys.”
Ben Wadey, the EastEnders Executive Producer then said: “Kellie has been at the beating heart of EastEnders for the past 13 years, and her characterisation of the fiercely lovable, protective, and brilliant Linda Carter has made her a favourite amongst the viewers and cemented her as a classic EastEnders icon."
He added: "We’ve still got a long way to go before we say goodbye, but I can promise that Kellie’s exit storyline will be full of unmissable drama."
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
