Tatay Elmer honored with final caravan

Family members and peers from PISTON pay their final respects to the late jeepney driver and activist Elmer Cordero

Late jeepney driver and activist “Tatay Elmer” Cordero is honored for the last time with a caravan from Claret Church in Quezon City to St. Peter Chapels La Loma, Caloocan City, where his remains were cremated on Wednesday, October 14.

Family members and his peers from Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON) all came to pay their final respects.

Cordero died on October 7 at 78 years old after suffering a heart attack during a protest.

He was part of the PISTON 6, a group of jeepney drivers arrested in 2020 for staging a protest to call for government aid at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. – Rappler.com
