Magandang relasyon ng Saudi Arabia at Pilipinas, kinilala sa 96th National Day ng kaharian

Ipinagdiwang ng Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ang kanilang 96th National Day, na pinangunahan ni Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the Philippines Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, at ginanap sa Makati City.

Kabilang sa mga dumalo sina DFA Undersecretary Leo Herrera-Lim, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown, Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino at iba pang dignitaries.

Sa kaniyang talumpati, kinilala ni Al-Ghamdi ang magandang relasyon ng Saudi Arabia at Pilipinas.

“We take pride in the distinguished level reached by Saudi-Philippine relations, and we look forward to continuing our joint efforts to further strengthen and broaden this partnership in a manner that serves the mutual interests of our two countries and our two friendly peoples,” aniya.

Sa loob aniya ng ilang dekada, naipagpatuloy ng Pilipinas at Saudi Arabia ang magandang relasyon nito sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan sa maraming larangan tulad ng political, economic, investment, cultural, educational at humanitarian fields.

“The economic relationships between our two countries holds promising prospects for further growth, particularly in the areas of energy, investment, infrastructure, and logistics,” sabi ng embahador.

Pagdating naman aniya sa humanitarian field, nananatili aniya ang commitment ng Saudi Arabia sa pagsuporta sa mga komunidad na apektado ng kalamidad sa pamamagitan ng mga inisyatibo ng King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

Sa kaniyang talumpati naman, kinilala ni Herrera-Lim ang pagtutulungan ng Pilipinas at Saudi Arabia maging sa mga bagong larangan.

“In recent years however, we have expanded into new areas of cooperation that promoted economic advancement and sustainable growth in both our economies in support of the Saudi Vision 2030 and our own AmBisyon Natin 2040 towards the new Philippines or Bagong Pilipinas…” ani Herrera-Lim.

Pinasalamatan din niya ang Kingdom of Saudi Arabia para sa mga humanitarian initiatives nito kabilang na ang pagbibigay ng assistance nito para sa matagumpay na paghihiwalay ng dalawang pares ng conjoined twins sa ilalim ng King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

Dahil aniya sa mga inisyatibong ito ng Saudi Arabia at kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa, tiwala umano si Herrera-Lim na magpapatuloy at mapapalakas pa ang bilateral relations ng Saudi at ng Pilipinas.

“I’m confident that the Philippines and Saudi Arabia will be able to sustain and further strengthen our bilateral relations in the years ahead,” ani Herrera-Lim. — BM GMA News
