Missing Abia landlady’s body found in soakaway

Translate

The remains of a missing landlady have been found in a 30-foot soakaway pit in her neighbour’s compound in Umueleghele, Isialangwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Saturday PUNCH gathered that the discovery followed a search by residents after the woman had been missing for several days, with community sources alleging that she had been involved in a land dispute with somebody.

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, confirmed the discovery on Friday while briefing journalists on the activities of the command since September 11.

Afolabi, who described the incident as a matter under investigation, said the police were working to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
