5 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight as Ross makes a major baby decision

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday's (21 September) episode, which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Emmerdale, Jacob and Sarah up the ante with Ross by urging him to put their minds at rest over baby Leyla's future.

Meanwhile, Dawn's funeral takes place but Joe is preoccupied with his dark thoughts of revenge.

1. Ross seals the deal after pressure from Jacob

Ross has repeatedly promised that he'll never seek custody of baby Leyla – but Jacob still feels vulnerable, as he and Sarah don't have anything in writing to protect their rights.

When approached by the couple at the pub, Ross agrees to sign a written agreement that confirms Jacob and Sarah as Leyla's legal parents. But they'll still need Charity to sign it, too…

2. Joe struggles through the funeral

Joe joins the rest of Dawn's loved ones for her emotional send-off – minus Lucas, who's too upset to be involved in the service.

Although Joe tries to give a eulogy, it's all too much for him, and Kim is forced to step in instead.

When it's time for Dawn's burial, Joe finally bails on the service altogether – much to Kim's concern.

3. Joe's revenge is revealed

Joe is later seen at another gravesite, speaking darkly about revenge.

It turns out that this isn't Dawn's resting place, as Joe has trapped Ruby in a coffin and buried her alive!

Joe still blames Ruby and Caleb for their inadvertent role in Dawn's death. Will Ruby now pay the ultimate price for crossing him?

4. Kev gets the wrong idea

Kev is livid with Vinny after finding out how heartbroken Lewis is after the botched proposal. He confronts Vinny for causing Lewis such pain and urges him to get things back on track – starting by burying his guilt over the crash.

Vinny promises that he's ready to do the right thing, but while Kev assumes this means marrying Lewis, he has other ideas…

5. Vinny finally makes his confession

Paying a sombre visit to the café, Vinny feels more guilty than ever as Nicola encourages him to sort things out with Lewis.

Vinny stops Nicola in her tracks by revealing that he was responsible for the crash that killed Jimmy and Dawn. How will she respond?
