INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- With his third touchdown of the game Sunday night, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford passed Phillip Rivers for sole possession of sixth on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list.
Stafford's third-quarter 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Davante Adams was his 426th career regular-season touchdown. The score gave the Rams a 21-3 lead over the New York Giants.
Stafford now trails only Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), Aaron Rodgers (528) and Brett Favre (508) on the all-time list.
At the time of the touchdown, Stafford had completed 16 of 23 passes for 273 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.
Stafford is the second player in NFL history with 25 or more three-passing touchdown games for multiple franchises (25 Rams, 42 Lions), according to ESPN Research. Manning had 64 with the Colts and 29 with the Broncos.
