Three arrested after entering Kelantan through illegal jetty

RANTAU PANJANG: A man and two women who had just returned from an entertainment trip in Sungai Golok were arrested after entering Kelantan through an illegal jetty here yesterday.
Southeast Brigade General Operations Force commander Datuk Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the three Malaysians were arrested by a team from its Eighth Battalion about 7.30pm.
He said the trio, aged 18, 20 and 32, had just crossed the Golok River by boat when they were detained at the Abe Yie illegal jetty.
"The three admitted they had visited an entertainment centre in Sungai Golok town.
"They also admitted to taking drugs while at the entertainment centre," he said.
Radzi said urine tests on the 20-year-old and 18-year-old women returned positive for methamphetamine.
"The 32-year-old man tested negative. All three were from Kelantan," he added.
He said the three were arrested for entering Malaysia through an unauthorised route under Section 5(2) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
"The case has been handed over to the Pasir Mas police station," he said.
