Gersh Signs ‘Faces of Death’s Isa Mazzei

EXCLUSIVE: Isa Mazzei has signed with Gersh for representation in all areas.

Mazzei broke out as the writer and producer of the psychological thriller Cam, marking her feature debut produced alongside Blumhouse Productions. The film, directed by her frequent collaborator Daniel Goldhaber, won the Audience Award at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, as well as Fantasia Film Festival’s New Flesh Award for Best First Feature and Cheval Noir Award for Best Screenplay and was later acquired by Netflix.

Mazzei went on to produce How to Blow Up a Pipeline, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival, was acquired by Neon and won an Independent Spirit Award.

Most recently, she co-wrote and produced the horror reimagining Faces of Death, starring Barbie Ferreira, Charli xcx and Dacre Montgomery, for IFC and Legendary. Also directed by Goldhaber, that film earned strong reviews and marked IFC’s widest release to date.

Mazzei’s current projects include an adaptation of Laura van den Berg’s novel The Third Hotel for First Gen Content and director Michelle Garza Cervera, which we scooped in May. Cultivating a reputation as a go-to fixer for features, particularly when dealing with the internet, youth culture, and female leaning genre, her essays have appeared in New York Magazine‘s The Cut, Glamour, Variety and Volume 0. Her memoir, Camgirl, was published by Rare Bird Books and named to NPR’s annual Best Books list.

Mazzei holds a degree in comparative literature from UC Berkeley. She continues to be represented by Anonymous Content and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.
