Coordination on single-gate resource exports under way: Lahadalia

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Coordinating Minister of Downstreaming and Energy Transition Bahlil Lahadalia has coordinated with Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) on a plan to route all natural resource exports through DSI as a single gate starting 2027.

"We are coordinating well with DSI. We will go through one gate, through DSI," Lahadalia said after the opening of the Mineral and Coal Convention and Exhibition (Minerba Convex) 2026 here on Monday.

Lahadalia, who also serves as minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that by exporting natural resources through DSI, the shipments can go straight to their destination countries without transiting in other countries.

"There is no need to transit anywhere anymore, it can go straight to the destination country," he added.

Since June 1, 2026, the government has applied a transition period for governance of strategic natural resource commodity exports through DSI, which at the initial stage covers coal, crude palm oil (CPO), and ferroalloys, under Government Regulation Number 24 of 2026 on Governance of Strategic Natural Resource Commodity Exports.

The policy is being carried out in stages, with full implementation of the export mechanism through DSI targeted by January 1, 2027 at the latest.

The policy aims to strengthen control and oversight of exports and export proceeds (DHE) of strategic natural resource commodities, drive economic growth, control inflation, stabilize the exchange rate, and strengthen Indonesia’s bargaining position in export negotiations with buyers.

Citing the Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry, DSI has made an initial analysis of about 6,500 export notifications (PEB) worth more than US$14 billion, more than 90 million tons, to more than 100 destination countries.

It has also built transaction visibility and identified data inconsistencies for review after nearly three months of operation.

Subsequently, at the end of August 2026, the Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry, together with related ministries and agencies, evaluated Phase I, or the transition period, of the single-gate strategic resource export policy through DSI to determine the next stage.

At the end of September 2026, Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the transition process for single-gate exports of several Indonesian flagship commodities through DSI has remained on track through the end of December 2026.
