West Bandung, W Java (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri has assured the public that the Indonesian government is taking continuous steps to secure the national fuel supply amid evolving global geopolitical dynamics.

Speaking in West Bandung, West Java, on Monday, Dyah said the government is maintaining communication with various parties, including Russia, to find solutions to safeguard domestic energy security.

"The government has taken many steps. We are also communicating with Russia, which is an extraordinary approach led by the president," she said.

She added that the approach initiated by President Prabowo Subianto is being followed up by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to ensure that the efforts produce concrete results.

Dyah expressed hope that these measures would help maintain a stable energy supply amid evolving geopolitical conditions.

She said the current situation needs to be addressed with appropriate measures to prevent disruptions to the domestic energy supply.

The government, she added, will continue working to find the best solutions to protect the public interest and ensure that energy needs are met.

"President Prabowo's message is to always seek the best possible solution," she said.

Dyah expressed hope that these efforts would strengthen national energy security while ensuring that the public's energy needs are met amid global geopolitical uncertainty.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said that, amid global oil price volatility, the government had decided to keep subsidized fuel prices unchanged to protect the purchasing power of lower-middle-income communities.

Despite the fiscal implications of the decision, he said protecting people's purchasing power remains the government's primary consideration in determining energy pricing policies.
