The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported in its 5 a.m. weather advisory that partly gloomy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are also expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized rains and thunderstorms.

As of 3 a.m., the Tropical Depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility is located 2,675 kilometers (km) east of Eastern Visayas.

According to Pagasa, it has maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph, while moving north-northeastward at 15 kph.

“Gayunpaman ay hindi naman natin inaasahan yung kanyang landfalling scenario o magkaroon man ng direktang epekto sa anumang parte ng ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said during the said weather advisory.
