Palace to Mans Carpio: Pray to ‘true God’ truth comes out

SINGAPORE — Malacañang on Saturday told lawyer Manases “Mans” Carpio, husband of Vice President Sara Duterte, to pray to the “true God” for the truth to come out after he claimed he was being persecuted amid scrutiny of the couple’s financial transactions.
Palace press officer Claire Castro made the remarks in response to Carpio’s claim that government resources were being used against him despite not being the one facing impeachment proceedings.
“Well, let us join Mans Carpio in prayer. That is what we want, for all Filipinos to pray so that the truth will come out because many people are being blinded today,” Castro told reporters in Singapore on Saturday.

“But if we are going to pray, it should be to the true God, not to some false god,” she added.
Castro also maintained that the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. would not cover up alleged irregularities, even if they involved the president’s relatives, friends or political allies.
“Under President Marcos Jr.’s administration, there is no cover-up. No one is spared, whether they are relatives, friends or allies. If evidence of irregularities involving them is found, it should be investigated,” she said.
