Altman retires as winningest coach in Oregon hoops history

Translate

Oregon men's basketball coach Dana Altman is retiring after 16 seasons, a source confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

Altman, 68, is the winningest coach in Oregon program history, going 382-182 and reaching the NCAA tournament nine times, including the Final Four in 2017, during his tenure.

The expectation is that longtime assistant coach and former DePaul coach Tony Stubblefield will serve as the interim coach for this season, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Oregon struggled to a 12-20 mark last season, including a 5-15 record in Big Ten play.

Altman also coached at Marshall, Kansas State and Creighton during his career, posting a 792-425 mark.
