Translate

Relebohile Mofokeng is being tipped to make a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues after a stellar debut season in Belgium.

Relebohile Mofokeng has dazzled since leaving Orlando Pirates

Mofokeng has sparkled in his debut campaign with Royal SG. The ex-Pirates man has scored five times and laid on four assists in 15 outings. Most recently, he was a key creative force as Mofokeng and his teammates claimed an impressive win away to Celta Vigo in the Europa League. The 22-year-old scored on his European debut against Viktoria Plzen. Now, he’s been nominated for the Jupiter Pro League Player of the Month for October.

According to@ekremkonur on X, Bayer Leverkusen and SC Freiburg are targetting the gifted young South African. However, Royal USG have strong leverage and would demand at least €15M (R275 million) for their prized asset.

A breakdown of Rele Mofokeng’s month of October

Rele Mofokeng and Royal Union Saint-Gilloise are flying both domestically and in Europe. They went unbeaten in the month of October, winning four matches on the bounce across all competitions at the back end. Mofokeng scored and assisted in a 5-2 win over Cercle Brugge, assisted in a 4-0 win over Hapoel Beer Sheva in the Europa League, and was man of the match in an impressive 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad. Next up for them is a league match against Genk on Sunday, 8 November kicking off at 19:30 SA time.

Orlando Pirates get the better of Kaizer Chiefs

Meanwhile, Mofokeng’s old club beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in last Saturday’s Soweto Derby, effectively ruling the Glamour Boys out of the title race after just nine matches. Orlando Pirates boss Abdeslam Ouaddou notched his 50th win for a PSL club in the process. The Sea Robbers have won four of the last six meetings between the sides.
