MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has his hands full and is simply beyond comparison with Vice President Sara Duterte, who is just waiting for the former to be incapacitated, for her to take over the reins of government, a former congressman said over the weekend.

“President BBM (Bongbong Marcos) has a whole lot of different responsibilities compared to the VP. It is like comparing apples and oranges. The President is the only one in charge of making day to day decisions, both popular and unpopular,” former Surigao del Norte 2nd District representative Robert Ace Barbers said.

As things stand in the governmental hierarchy, Duterte “discharges no official duties that carry responsibilities nor make or break the government,” Barbers said. “So, you see, they are of different characters.”

Barbers cautioned the public to be critical and more circumspect in analyzing information including those that fan the flames of discord and without any meaningful objective.
