Napoli captain Di Lorenzo to miss Lazio clash through injury

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will miss Napoli’s clash with Serie A leaders Lazio on Sunday after tests revealed a thigh injury.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the club’s medical report confirmed that the Napoli captain has a strain of the long adductor muscle in his left thigh. Scans at the Pineta Grande Hospital found the problem, and Di Lorenzo has already started his rehabilitation. Napoli have not given a recovery time.

It’s another blow for Massimiliano Allegri. Napoli lost in Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, and they sit 10th in Serie A on 14 points.
Di Lorenzo joins an injury list that already includes: Stanislav Lobotka, out for around six weeks. Alessandro Buongiorno, Benoit Badiashile, Leonardo Spinazzola, David Neres, Costantino Favasuli and Alisson Santos.
There was better news on Mathías Olivera, who is back in full training and available for the weekend.
Napoli host Lazio at the Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday, with the game kicking off at 12:30 CET [11:30 GMT]. Gennaro Gattuso’s side moved three points clear at the top after last weekend’s 2-1 win over Cagliari, while Napoli are 14 points behind.
The international break follows, which gives Di Lorenzo some extra time to recover.
