Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, surprised attendees at Lagos Fashion Week after walking the runway in a collection by Nigerian fashion designer Ugo Monye.
The governor joined the models on the runway on Saturday, drawing loud cheers from the audience as attendees recognised him among the participants.

Sanwo-Olu’s appearance highlighted his support for Lagos’ creative industry, particularly the fashion sector, which contributes to the state’s cultural identity and entertainment scene.
Following the runway appearance, the governor took to his X handle to explain his participation, describing it as a break from his usual governance duties.

“I stepped away from the usual business of governance to walk the runway for the incredibly talented Ugo Monye at Lagos Fashion Week. Lagos continues to grow as a home for fashion, creativity and culture and I am always happy to support the people driving this growth,” he wrote.
