A pedestrian has died, while another was seriously injured, after a crash in Adelaide's northern suburbs on Sunday morning.

SA Police say emergency services were called to the intersection of Waterloo Corner Road and Whites Road in Salisbury North just after 10am when a vehicle collided with a traffic light pole and two pedestrians.

"Sadly, one of the pedestrians died at the scene and the second pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries," a spokesperson said.

The driver was arrested at 11:20am and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious harm by dangerous driving.

"He was granted bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 14 December," they said.

The 19-year-old driver, who was uninjured, was issued with an instant loss of licence until further order.
