The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) on Sunday said measures are in place to assist motorists as the country will observe All Saints' Day (Undas) and All Souls' Day on November 1 to 2, respectively.

TRB spokesperson Julius Corpus said "Oplan Biyaheng Ayos" will be implemented from October 29 to November 30 to ensure a smooth traffic flow along expressways.

He said all toll gates will remain open to avoid traffic congestion, while lane assistance personnel will be deployed to help motorists experiencing issues with their radio frequency identification (RFID) tags.

“We will also deploy additional patrol vehicles, toll trucks, fire trucks, ambulances, emergency medical service, and incident response teams to help motorists,” Corpus told Super Radyo dzBB in an interview.

He added that dedicated personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic inside service stations or stopovers and ensure clean and adequate facilities.

Free towing service will also be available, excluding repair service.

On Saturday, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said there was still a normal flow of people at two major bus terminals in Metro Manila one week before the commemoration of Undas.

The LTO is implementing “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos” for Undas, inspecting Cubao, Quezon CIty and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

PITX is expecting around 1.9 million passengers this year amid the exodus for this year's All Saints' Day (Undas) break.

Many Filipinos are expected to go to their hometowns for the Undas break to pay their respects to their departed loved ones.

All Saints' Day will fall on Sunday, November 1, while All Souls' Day will be on Monday, November 2. Both are special non-working days. —KG, GMA News
