Motivational speaker in sexual harassment probe to be released on police bail
KANGAR: A motivational speaker arrested over allegations of sexually harassing school students will be released on police bail today.
"He will be released this afternoon after the completion of the remand procedures," Perlis police chief Deputy Commissioner Hamzah Hashim said when contacted.
The suspect had been remanded for two days.
The arrest followed allegations by several social media users accusing the suspect of sexual harassment and grooming.
According to the allegations, the suspect approached victims on TikTok under the guise of work or educational matters before proposing that they become his "sugar baby" and check into hotels.
Following the allegations, Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek on Thursday ordered the immediate suspension of all school programmes involving the speaker to protect student safety and welfare.
